Director Alain Gomis’ fourth feature film, “Felicité” one of the highlights and favourite of this year Berlinale’ selection, tells the story of the eponymous character a strong and independant woman who lives in Kinshasa and sings in basr at night in order to escape the grim routine of her daily life. One day Felicité’s son has a very bad accident, whilst waiting in hospital  to receive treatment, Felicité tries desperately to raise the money needed for his operation. In her quest for money we are taken on a tour through the impoverished downton Kinshasa. Enigmatic, powerful an emotional. A must see!
